Finland vs. South Korea was top-tier professional Overwatch

The Overwatch World Cup group stages kicked off this week, and with fifteen games each they’re pretty intense to keep up with. If you’re only able to watch one match from this stage, though, you should make it Finland vs. South Korea. The match-up was always going to be hotly contested, but the two teams put on one of the best shows of professional Overwatch I’ve ever seen. South Korea are undoubtedly the favourites to win the cup, having emerged not only victorious, but entirely undefeated, in the past two…

Some surprising decks appeared at Hearthstone’s European tournament playoffs

Blizzard’s competitive card game Hearthstone has had plenty of unpopular decks in its time, but few come close to touching Quest Rogue and Shudderwock Shaman. The good news was, supposedly, that the former has been nerfed into oblivion and the latter was only ever a joke that couldn’t be considered competitively viable. And yet both are currently seeing play in the currently ongoing European tournament playoffs. Quest Rogue is an old archetype, dating back to the release of core card The Caverns Below in April of 2017. The card is…

The Overwatch League has been experiencing a pretty dramatic shake-up of late, with beloved players like Brandon “Seagull” Larned and Heo “Gambler” Jin-woo retiring to focus more on streaming, and some teams axing virtually their entire rosters (pour one out for the Shanghai Dragons and the Florida Mayhem). But it’s not all loss – today the League announced six new teams that will join the previously unveiled Atlanta and Guangzhou as new debuts in its second season. Teams named for Chengdu, Hangzhou, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington DC, and Paris will be…
